Computer-aided Design

This package will focus on building a thorough foundation in Computer Aided Design (CAD). Students will learn to fabricate common objects like household items and foods. This immersion will stimulate creativity and outside of the box thinking in students.

This course allows students to:
⁃ Create an account and learn how to navigate the modeling software Onshape.
⁃ Showcase how to make 2D sketches and transform them into 3D parts.
⁃ Understand how to make assemblies containing many parts fixed together.
⁃ Familiarize themselves with exporting files and the capabilities of CAD models on other platforms
⁃ Learn how to make visually appealing designs
⁃ Learn how to fabricate designs to solve given challenges
⁃ Gain a better understanding on 3-dimensional geometry
⁃ Become proficient in the commonly used extrusion tools to turn 2D sketches into 3D parts

Dates of Sessions
