About Abi
Hello! My name is Abi and I am currently a student at the University of Florida. I am a dual major in English and Mathematics, with a minor in CS, attending on a National Merit Benacquisto scholarship.
I have been a commissioned artist for 4 years, specializing in oil portraiture and graphite realism. About creative writing, I am a National Scholastic Art & Writing Awards Silver Medalist, regional Scholastic Gold and Silver Key recipient, and an international Claudia Ann Seaman Awards Finalist.
During my time at one of the top private high schools in the country, I held leadership positions in the Miami-Dade Red Cross Youth Executive Board and Achieve Miami, an education-focused nonprofit. I have also held club presidencies oriented towards both Alzheimer’s and suicide awareness.
My packages are oriented towards both technical skills building and finding a unique style, but most importantly developing a passion for the craft. I look forward to aiding in cultivating your child’s artistic interests!
Classes
Each Package includes a complimentary introductory meeting with parents and students to understand the student’s interests and to create personalized lesson plans that will fully challenge and excite the student(s).
The Visual Arts Package has two levels. Level 1 is oriented towards those with little to no experience in the visual arts and aims to build foundational technical skills to apply to the creation of all pieces. Level 2 is an intermediate level course, where the student will learn more specialized skills that are applicable depending on the precision required in the desired work.
The Creative Writing Package currently has one level. Level 1 is oriented towards those with elementary age reading comprehension and writing. It builds recognition and application of skills through analysis of the authors’ given work. It is an introduction to the beginning parts of development of one’s writing ‘voice’, as well as cultivating further knowledge of grammar and tone.
Classes are provided online through Zoom or Google Meet. In-person options would take place at the student’s home and would allow for greater observation of the student’s progression and potentially more immediate feedback.
Days and times are to be coordinated with the teacher. However, the full package must be taken within the defined time frame. A consistent and disciplined approach is key to maximizing the benefits of these packages.
Classes are designed to be interactive and engaging, with teaching methods tailored to each student’s learning style. I will ensure students are making progress and address any areas of difficulty.
